The RVC 66 Club Gathers in Historic York
The RVC 66 Club, a close-knit group of veterinary surgeons who qualified from the Royal Veterinary College in 1966
has upheld a remarkable tradition of meeting for an annual reunion every year since their graduation.
Their gatherings have taken them to various places around the country and occasionally abroad.
Though the years have seen their numbers diminish a faithful few ensure the tradition continues with unwavering enthusiasm.
This year, on the 10th and 11th of September, the historic city of York provided the backdrop for their latest meeting.
Hosted by their own Henry Robertson the group convened at the York Hilton hotel.
The reunion began on Thursday morning under warm sunshine with a delightful walk along the city's ancient walls.
Henry provided a knowledgeable commentary bringing the rich history of York to life for his colleagues.
Later in the day some took the opportunity to visit the magnificent York Minster while others meandered through the famous old streets of The Shambles soaking in the unique atmosphere.
The day culminated in an excellent celebratory meal enjoyed by the 11 members present.
As is tradition the evening continued in the bar filled with shared memories laughter and fond reminiscences of a lifetime in both veterinary practice and friendship.
The York meeting was yet another wonderful chapter in the long and continuing story of the RVC 66 Club.
Where will we find ourselves in 2026?
